I am so glad that someone else out there is talking about the danger of Hollywood BIM. Part of the problem is that we as builders use visualization to sell projects, which is usually based on sketchup, 3ds, and sometimes Revit. Then our owners come to expect presentation quality models throughout the process. We need to be selling the cost saving lean and green aspects of BIM, not the render quality of our models. One of the biggest hurdles is going to be convincing our Business Development teams to show our "ugly" models in presentations, and talk about the real benefits not the Hollywood whiz-bang.
